The 2020 Ford Escape shows that Ford is on top of its game. Today I'm reviewing the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid to show why it's a good small crossover -- and I'm going to show you around the new Escape and show you all of its quirks and features. I'm also driving the 2020 Escape to show you what it's like on the road.

@Doug I'm surprised you didn't spot Ford's little easter egg within the Adaptive Cruise Control system combined with the Drive Modes. I spotted this on my Ford Puma 2020 (which has very similar platform to Ford Escape/Kuga If you are on Normal, Slippery and Eco, the icon representing the car in front shows a Ford Fusion Switch it to Sport Mode and that car becomes a Ford Mustang Switch it to Trail Mode (which is interestingly what we get instead of Snow/Sand) and the car in front becomes an F150. Our icon also shows a whole load of rocks falling into a pile and the background to the dashboard shows some weird woodgrain pattern to give you the illusion of being in the woods on a "trail". Although I've yet to find any Ford Puma customer attempt to take their 1.0L Ecoboost on any offroad adventure.

🚨My major complaint(s) after 2mo owning titanium awd hybrid: 1) the DASH GLARE on windshield is beyond dangerous. Especially the smoother non textured plastic on the heads-up display creates terrible reflection on the windshield. I can see the entire dash on my windshield almost anytime during daytime driving, really legit awful. I’d return the car for this alone BUT... 2) the engine is very loud and sounds like it should be doing way more work than it is for the sounds it produces. 3) the steering wheel “leather” absorbs heat (like from sunshine) realllllly bad and gets very hot more so than any other car I’ve driven and even compared to our F150 4) no dedicated EV driving mode. Eco mode does NOT a keep it in EV. Maybe this is to push you into the PHEV mode but unlike the RAV4 Prime, Ford does not (yet?) offer an AWD for the PHEV, why!? I sold an early release Tesla Model 3 for this and must say I’m regretting it quite a bit. The escape is a great design, good build quality, very comfortable all-around vehicle. I get 41 combined mpg and can get into low 50mpg in city - if I’m trying. Fuel efficiency and range of 520mi on a tank is great.

I own a 2019 Ford Escape ain the Escape owner group on Facebook there has been people that have bought the 2020 model year and the engine failures are already starting. And the rotary dial shifter isn't all that rare anymore. Almost all new vehicles have them. Including Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, and many more.

I had to rent a car for a week and they gave me the 2020 Ford Escape Titanium. It's peppy and has many bells and whistles. But the driver seat very uncomfortable however I adjusted. There is not enough lateral support in the seat. When you go on a highway above 60 mph, you hear a weird wind noise in the cabin. It's so annoying that it makes your highway driving a torture. I'm not sure if it's a design flaw but there is a terrible air resonance on a high speed. I like the convenient features but it's not a keeper.

Lol that Ford dealership "Hey Hank, the guy with the GT is taking a car off the lot" "Ugh did he tell anyone? Is it the new Mustang?" I got a 2020 SEL with the 2.0, new. Here are some issues I have encountered in the first day of ownership. Back up camera works about half the time. It glitches out and goes black / static. Button to change drive mode doesn't work, it changes drive modes when I play with my doors. A frame molding on both sides was not installed properly so there are pretty big gaps. Drivers side only speakers went out but came back. Haven't been able to reproduce this. That isn't mentioning the things the dealership said they would do (but didn't) like remove their stupid pin stripe, fresh inspection, etc. I understand these things happen. And I really love the car. Just makes me sad this is my first ford experience. Makes it hard to suggest to other people.

Unusual buttons: Many cars are being criticized for lack of button and those buttons are in menus on a touch screen. The benefit of a menu touch screen is that it can explain the feature better than a confusing icon button. One you learn its probably not a big deal, but perhaps the learning is faster on a touch screen interface.

Huge improvement in many areas but not on styling. Ford has a history of turning a winner into a loser. Back in the mid ‘80’s they came out with the first Taurus. The styling changes were evolutionary thru to ‘96. Then they screwed up with the jelly bean style and Toyota ate their lunch with the Camry. Sales of the new Escape are down like everyone else but right now Toyota is again eating their lunch with the RAV 4.

This is a nice car for people who car more about pragmatics than style marks. A good car for a young family looking to stretch their dollar as far as they can and still be presentable. Their is one other person who would buy such a car, the moder. It is the perfect car to develop a costume body kit. If the Chevy Aveo can get a kit that makes it look like a cartoon UFO, then the Ford Escape can get a kit that makes it military futuristic.

Wow.. One thing I noticed... Look at the roofline at 5:14.. Even with the guy hunced over while talking, you can see the roofline kind of slopes downward towards the windshield. For a taller person like me (6' 0"), I can just tell that the visibility on this escape would be terrible.. With a lower roofline like the Escape has it would severly hurt comfort, headroom, general upper cabin room, visibility, (bad visibility = poor safety when driving), and overall driving enjoyment. The lower roofline is a problem with a lot of other crossovers/suv's these days.. Hopefully, this trend reverses back to a higher roofline that were more common 10 - 15 years ago.

The reason there is no rear seat pocket on the driver's side is so that kids aren't sticking and taking things out while you are driving. I am not sure if Doug is trolling us because he mentions this "quirk" in many videos. I think he must have some idea. Lol
