The E92 BMW M3 was the craziest BMW M3. Today I'm going to review the E92 M3 to show you why the V8-powered M3 was the craziest -- then I'm going to show you around the E92 M3. Then I'm going to drive the BMW M3 to show you what it's like on the road.

I had an e60, and the only problem i had with the cup holder was the liquid would spill only on the cup holder and it became sticky and was hard to open, did not go on my climate control system or my shift boot

Jesus. Like many others here, I was disappointed of Doug's poor knowledge/documentation of this/these car(s). One thing that i didn't find anyone mentioning in the comments is that central armrest split. You can pull the armrest closest to the driver to the front so you can rest your arm more comfortably on it. I love Doug's snob jokes but this joke about it tho.... bleh. Probably cuz I actually know what it's used for. Edit: Those missing cupholders in e9x series tho... That was some genius move from bmw designers tho. Apparently you could only get them as an extraoption for money. On a premium car. My Dacia has those as stock.

Doug, the aircon wheel which override the face blowing vent only, is there for situations like, when it's cold and you want heat on your foot however the heat is too much for the face then you use the wheel to overide.

Dear Doug, i don't bother to read 2,2k answers if anyone has all ready enlightened you, but you have that dial in the middle for getting cool air! Comprende? No you don't! because you are living in Florida and you don't need it there! You will get cool air from every where. You can set it to cool, because there are people that actually live in the north! In winter they are having hot air from every duct because it is cold outside! So, getting all that hot air in the cabin you start to feel sleepy on long rides. And the cool air from the center ducts are keeping you awake (and alive) with its ice cold fresh air in your face! That simple.

Too many faults about what he says. The blue and red dial is only for the central vent to not pushing very hot or cool air on the drivers face, it has nothing to do with the general temperature of the clima. Also, the drivers cupholder is the most convenient in any car I had. Also what he says about flash and power buttons are completely false. Do a better research when reviewing a car, that things made your review a total garbage by criticizing things that absolutely perfect.
Daniel Pirms Mēneša
3:25 I have an e90 and I’ve always thought of the unlock button was an image of a house/home. I’ve just realised it was actually meaning an arrow pointing up 🤯 Edit: also at 7:00 the centre armrest is split in two cause the short one is adjustable, it moves forward and back 😂😂

the bearings problem is usualy caused by hard driving before the oil gets up to temp. they have a problem with geting enough oil in the bearings when it's to cold so when people hoon they starve the bearings and slowly destroy them over time.

S L Pirms Mēneša
Rod bearing issue on these makes them potentially so costly to own. BMW never does V8 engines well. You can see why these are still depreciating while the E46 M3 with its 6 cylinder bullet proof engines is seriously appreciative.
S L Pirms Mēneša
@Eddie Aranda It's more than a $2k permanent fix and the tolerances are still super tight. The early e46 had rod bearing issues but they rectified it and what's nice is that BMW fessed up and fixed them. Apart from vanos that's pretty much it on the s54. Regaular inspection ii takes care of valve adjustments. Common s65 problems are rod bearings on ANY model year , throttle actuators and oil leaks like no tomorrow. Huge PITA like all BMWs after 08 they just cheaped out on the plastics.
Eddie Aranda
Eddie Aranda Pirms Mēneša
The S65 v8 is widely regarded as one of the most reliable BMW engines of the modern era. Compared to the S54 from the e46 m3, it has far fewer common mechanical problems. The rod bearings are a one-time $2000 permanent fix. In addition to preventative rod bearing maintenance, the e46 also needed periodic valve adjustments and had a rear subframe made of paper.

Back seat area is debatable regarding the cup holder and arm rest. My m3 that I bought second hand has 2 cup holders in that large depressed area with two wing doors that open to grip the drink containers. The arm rest on mine has a hinge also the whole back seat reclines in 2 halves. Maybe because mine isn’t a competition model as it also has a sun roof. They must not all be the same, could be a option issue or weight reducing thing.

The turn signal isn’t confounding. The first indent is for passing and will immediately return to neutral and blink 3 times (or more if programmed). Pull down to the 2nd detent to keep the blinker on but you’ll have to push it up 2 detents to turn off. BMW may have changed the operation because they got tired of Americans complaining about something that isn’t really that hard to figure out. The climate dial is for making fine or drastic adjustments to the face air vent temperature without changing the air temperature coming out of the other vents. The lack of rear seat amenities and the floppy armrest are to save weight. They only exist on the M3 or are part of the Competition package. I have an E92 335is and none of that exists. Standard armrest with cup holders and a surprisingly roomy and very comfortable place to be.

Its weird watching a Doug review of a car I own, I can now see why there is usually 1K downvotes on each video, probably from owners. :D Couple things that bugged me or he didn't mention: 1. The turn signal controls are totally customizable in the settings, and they are not weird at all. Tap the stick in the direction for the 3-blink "lane change" indicator, press it all the way to make it continually blink, press it again to make it stop. I was driving my girlfriend's 2017 Honda Fit and it has the exact same turn signal controls as my BMW. 2. As other comments have stated, the middle AC dial controls the temperature of the air blowing in your face, this way you can have cabin temperature be one setting and still have hot or cold air blowing on you . It makes more sense when you're actually driving. 3. He didn't mention the Car venting timer feature that lets you set a timers to have the car vent hot air out of the car a few minutes before you plan to go for a drive. 4. certain models have a cupholder inside the middle armest storage with a vent to blow cold air to keep the cup cool, later models replaced this with a coin holder :D 5. The center arm rest can be extended forward and back, which is why it is split in 2. 6. Many other quirks!

The best looking M3 is the e46.With that being said M3s are disposable junk.BMW designed them that way, subframes failing, disposable rod bearings amongst other problems.I know what I'm talking about,my 04 e46m3 has 111,000mls and is not tracked. The subframe failed, the rod bearings failed, the exhaust hub on the vanos failed.I could go on and on but all I can say is I should've bought a Z06.
