The 2020 Volkswagen Jetta is a good car -- but people want SUVs now. Today I'm reviewing the new Jetta, and I'm going to show you all the quirks and features of the latest Jetta. I'm also driving the 2020 Jetta SEL Premium to show you what it's like on the road.

Wow! That was boring! I wouldn't want to buy one, either!

bland exterior? Are you kidding? I'm no VW fan, but they have a very distinctive exterior that looks good. Most owners seem to keep their cars very clean and VWs are very recognizable.

Maybe Scotty helped convince people about the quality level of VW and they switched to Lexus, Toyota, and Honda

Just got this a week ago and absolutely love it so far. I was originally going for Accord/Civic but the mileage on the Jetta and overall features you get for roughly the same price as Toyota/Honda comparables sold me on it.

You can get a Jetta S for like 18k still well equipped. Led headlights, android/apple car system, auto braking, blind spot monitoring, cruise. I have one and love it. I disagree that it feels average. For the class the torque is excellent and the 8 speed shifts fast. Can't get it under 39mpg either combined.

I have a 2019 Jetta SE got it for 16k and I love it. Great fuel mileage and just a great car all around. Kind of looks like an Audi as well which I like.

It's a nice car, however it's a heavy car, just the door itself is pretty heavy, handling is not that good too, mpg is above average tho and very Fast acceleration

I rented a Jetta once a couple of years ago and immediately turned around and exchanged it. Compared to similar cars, it felt incredibly cheap and plasticky, with terrible acceleration and terrible brakes, and an awful thin plastic steering wheel, like a throwback to 10 years ago. Maybe it's improved dramatically since then, but I'm not motivated to look at the brand after that experience. Also, I've rented a Tiguan a couple of times over the years and found that the Rogue and RAV4 were both much better.

Most Jettas are driven by Gay Male Stalkers in inner cities. Especially ex cops and ex state constables and people in some public seat that have mental health issues of f'ing with peoples lives, and try to blend in with the Jetta

In Aussie, my Vicar relative needed a car that made people take him seriously, but didn't have him appear too rich, so he went and got a VW Jetta. That was about 2016 and since then, Jettas have been off the market, probably because no-one took them seriously. Why?

I bought the 2019 manual transmission version of this car. It's fantastic, here is why; 1. Fuel economy is on he highway is close to 50MPG and always better than 40mpg even if you are going 80+. So the Jetta gets as good or better mpg than the most miserly of econo boxes. The city miles are very good also but I can't give a number. 2. The base model comes with everything necessary including Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The only possible exception might be heated seats. 3. The steering, ride, braking are all very good. It's not a sports car but is still a nice driving and riding car. Some of the Japanese or Korean offerings in the price range are dead feeling 4. The base model can be had for $16,000 - $16,500 plus tax, title, license. Other choices in that range are not as nice. 5. Nice Warranty. 6 years, 72,000miles My only complaint is that there is no off throttle deceleration. When you release the throttle or when down shifting there is no resulting deceleration of the car. It feels like something in the induction prevents vacuum; possibly as an anti pollution strategy to prevent crank case gas from pulling up past the rings? Maybe because the engine displacement is so small that there just is not much to off set the weight of the car? People with automatic transmission cars would never notice. Manual transmission cars can be hard to find but in my view, worth it

Always have vw service your vw. Don't go to the local yokel mechanic touch your vw. Vw will do the job in much less time and they know the car. A local mechanic put the wrong antifreeze in my first vw and caused a lot of damage as it ate the overflow tank and blew the water pump and radiator to the tune of $1500 in damage. Vw straightened it out. Had a 2000. A 2006. A 2014 Jett'a. No problem with any of them. I go to vw for service

Yea VW are good new but they are engineered to have problems. For example, the PCV diagram and the pressure sensor that they put in the intake manifold is absolutely stupid. Go buy a car from an automobile company that cares about you not VW.

12:20 That Is My Jetta Horn And Road Rage Did Exist
gethighonlife11 Pirms 16 dienām
Well, I was interested in the Jetta! I bought one the other day, and even though I have only had it for a few days, I love it! For a 147 horse power engine, it has enough power ( I was doing 72 mph on the freeway without it realizing it ). I bought the SEL trim, and I like it for the CD player, sunroof, gas mileage, Beats Audio, satelite radio and how it handles. And I found one in red!🚗 I am loving it! Hope that I don't get in a road rage so I don't get laughed at!
Joshua Pirms 15 dienām
lol that’s awesome I’ve had 3 Jetta’s on 14 years and I just got a VW Tiguan. It’s a good ride too! I also love the Satellite Radio and CD Player, power seat and heated seats and soft ride.

North America is comprised of Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. The Golf is more popular in Mexico than in the U.S., therefore it cannot be said that the Jetta is the most popular in North America. Than in the U.S., yes.

Just a PSA these new VW’s are a huge step up in reliability. The 3rd gen 2.0T is nearly faultless and there’s some really high mileage 3rd gen motors out there. VW has made a lot of improvements to overall reliability imo.

I laugh at the people who criticize this car as being 'boring". Every Toyota I've driven felt like a beer can compared to this car. Even the gas pedal on one Toyota felt like it was going to bend every time I pressed it. PS: Doug, I'm thinking the blank spaces around the shifter are for future expansion in case they want to add new features. Considering that, why not put a WiFi switch so you can toggle it on/off without fumbling in the infotainment screen...

That’s funny I had a Jetta and was happy with it. But I have back problems and it’s hard to get out of my Jetta so I went to VW and trade it in and got a 2019 VW Tiguan and it’s so easy to get in & out of. I miss driving a sedan but my back doesn’t hurt anymore when I get out of this higher setting crossover. I took it from Oklahoma to California and back and it was comfortable and quiet and the gas mileage was great on the highway.

any vw is shit, i say this after owning 2. if you like owning cars for 1 year and having to get rid of them because you cant afford repairs that dont even get fixed this car is for you. this car brakes down with less than 70 000 kms, mine were at 50 000 and 55000. both that i owned. and im sure they are even worse now.

Bought a 2019 Jetta S(base model) 6sp manual. $16,900 brand new. Android Auto. Collision braking. Auto headlights. Beyond awesome mileage (ave 38mpg, hwy 46-47) What's not to like?... Electronic parking brake... Arrgh. That was after VW gave me $23,000 for a 2013 sport wagon tdi with 49,000 miles after dieselgate. Drove that car for 3 years and made $3,000 on it. These new Jettas are awesome and they're practically giving them away.

LVlocal must be listening to my conversations. I’m a new driver and currently driving a used 2011 Jetta, I really like it even though I think this is the generation Doug says is bad. We just had to sink some money into it but it runs great now, can’t expect an almost 10 year old car to not have a few issues. The previous owner put low profile tires on so it looks sportier but those low profile tires make for a noisyish ride. I don’t need a fancy car, just need it to take me from point A to B. My one MAJOR COMPLAINT is that it doesn’t have AC!! We bought it in March so AC wasn’t on my mind...and it didn’t even occur to me that cars built in the 2000’s come with out it. Lesson learned on that and will always make sure that future cars are AC equipped.
