Mitsubishi Pajero Mini review! The Mitsubishi Pajero Mini is a tiny, cute, and interesting off-roader that's quirky and very small. Today I'm reviewing a Pajero Mini, and I'll show you all the quirks and features of this little Pajero Mini. Then I'll drive the Pajero Mini and review the driving experience.

Doug: " The seller sells a lot of japanese vehicles". The cars and bids listing: Seller type: Private seller. Right...

I know this video is two weeks old now, but maybe this comment section can help me! Since finding this video I instantly fell in love with this vehicle and found a listing in my province for one two days after the video came out. They're usually worth about 12k in Canada but I found one that wasn't running and got it for 1k. Me and my parents drove 14 hours to pick it up and bring it back home. In addition to needing engine work it was missing a lot of original bits and features such as the key fobs. I have been trying my hardest to find replacements or previously owned ones and haven't had any luck. Do any of you have any leads for me? It's such a long shot but I would love to replace as many of the missing bits as possible (including owners manual, Japanese labels, radio which are missing) and the key fob would be so nice to have! Thank you in advance if anyone sees this and has any information!

Holy sh!t, amazing what stuff will reach in value if you just import it. I'm in Okinawa right now about to sell one for like 500-1000. And mine's a special Snoopy Edition one too. 9k for one sounds insane to me. ... Though I did almost destroy it in a mud pit off-roading in the jungle. I probably could've gotten 1500-2000 for it if I hadn't... BTW, yeah, you pay for the whole RPM gauge, and you use the whole RPM gauge... just to drive like a normal car... It's a real struggle bus. If you're thinking about getting one in the states, just bare in mind, you will be flooring it to achieve (if at all) the speed limit on the highway. It seems like it's designed to take it though, I've tried everything I possibly can to kill the engine in mine, and it just keeps truckin. Also, its actual horsepower is closer to 50 horsepower, not 65, I'm not sure where he got that number from. Maybe he got that number from what the HP limit on kei cars was in 1996. But here's the thing, Japan steadily increased the HP limit on kei cars over the decades, but... Mitsubishi never really bothered keeping up with the times, they used the same 4A3 engine, making about 50 horsepower, in the pajero mini for a LONG time.

Remote starter: not a quirk, but a safety feature. If the Yakuza wires your car to explode, then you want to be as far away as possible when you start it.

"...made about 65 to 70, 75 horsepower, depending on which version..." No, Doug, wrong. It made 64hp AT MOST, per the regulations at the time. And, actually, this is the XR-II, which means it is naturally aspirated and made 52PS.
Hat Man
Hat Man Pirms 2 dienām
Yep, I concur. The limit went up over the years, but mitsubishi never really bothered updating the engine to keep up with the times, so it really does make only about 50 horsepower at best.

Cute? Have you seen crash-tests of this car? This car is like Critters - it looks almost cute and has bonny manners but only until it bites.... don’t fool yourself...this doesn’t come from technological nest like Smart car that has immensely rigid integral shell protecting you in case of an impact...this Pajero Mini collapses like paper cakebox if you crash it....you would rather to seek for latest 3-door Suzuki Grand Vitara or Daihatsu Terios which have much more rigid front crash zone and cabin frame….

That gear shift remind me with other Japanese cars from that era…the arrows at the R and D are not pointing at the N, they are just basically telling the direction of the drive (R is going back hence the arrow down), (D, 1, 2 are going forward hence the arrow up), N is just happened to be in the middle in a green safe box as the car won’t be going anywhere on N….remember automatic gears are new at that time, they need a little hint for drivers on how to use them :)

Those tiny mirrors on the fender was there so you won`t run over kids and small objects that`s in the left side of the car. SUVs have a high ride height so it was difficult to see what`s on the left side of the car. Turning left on a country that drives on the left side of the road meant that the blind spots can really kill someone. Anyways, this is a mini Kianu but with a car.

Funny thing is, as with most Kei cars, there is also a Turbocharged version of this car. It has the same displacement and HP as this N/A Version, since those are limited by the Kei car regulations, but it has alot more tourqe then the N/A Version and is also relatively easy to tune for more power.

:D id allow kei cars in Europe for 14-17 y.o. ppl pretty sure if you can ride a 125 ccm bike, you should be able to drive a kei car. On the other hand id also make it so you cannot do your drivers ed for the full car license in a car this small even if SOME parameters were out of the kei specifications. (here you usually drive the car belonging to the driver school both when you are learning and when you get tested by traffic police to get the license ) because a car this small , low power and maneuverable will not sufficiently prepare you for bigger cars.

*Germany* - i believe there was *no MINI Pajero* but a slightly longer Version close to 4 Meter and it was called the *Pajero "PININ"* . There were 1.8 Liter and 2.0 Liter Engine with 120-150 HP - and 4WD. Actually Mitsubishi only Sells an Outlander PHEV and a Pickup (L200).. The Rest is unuseable Soccermom BS or Childsplay. It is sad what a lot of Brand have become these Days.

The mirrors on the fender are actually more functional than where they are in standard American cars. You don't need to tilt your head to simultaneously view the roadway ahead and both sides behind. And.. NO... It's not ugly. It looks better on most cars, such as the Z and Skyline.

all SUVs in Japan have these mirrors. take a look at the sales statistics and you will see the 2021 TLS 200 itself with such a mirror. By the way, I had such a mini in 2006.
Suterudo Pirms 14 dienām
A lot of basic features of this cute tiny car are similar of a 1995 Sentra B14 (and some more Japanese cars). I'm impress about that.
xXShimaroXx Pirms 14 dienām
Personally, I think I would have more fun in this Pajero Mini, on the weekends, than in an "uglier" yet "cooler" even more "practical" 91' Civic Si, (just to criticize the Doug Score here) and I drive a Civic sedan lol, but while some people's fantasy weekends might be at the race track (I mean I love racing too), I do enjoy exploring the woods and trails. Now, I've got my mountain bike in the trunk of my Civic with the back seats folded down, so there's not much comparison to the Pajero Mini there, but one time I bought a pretty big, two-piece, leather recliner from a factory direct store, and that didn't fit in the back of my Civic (oh, but we tried), but I imagine (and it might be just imagination) that my recliner probably could've fit in the back, if only I had a Pajero Mini lol... right? practical?
xXShimaroXx Pirms 14 dienām
There are many all round features, such as the front lights, and the wheels, which are all around you when you are sitting behind the all round steering wheel. It's a well rounded vehicle: a jack of all round trades; generally versatile. The back seats are probably one of the few items in the vehicle that fall flat.
